

T.C. was born on March 4, 1932, in Kansas City, to Theodore Cyrus and Thelma Faye (Miller) Hunt. He grew up in the Gashland area and attended North Kansas City High School. He began working for Greyhound Bus Line before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served as an Engineman Second Class (E-5) Petty Officer. After his military service, he worked for Keystone Trailer and Equipment Company with his dad and later for Kansas City Southern Railway until retiring in 1994.
He married Nancy Miller on October 6, 1956, and together they had five children. In 1963, they bought their first home in Liberty. He was a talented handyman who could fix anything. He was passionate about NASCAR, motorcycles, basketball, football, dogs, horses, and, most of all, his family. He loved telling stories and sharing memories with those around him. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including roller/ice skating, sledding and skinny-dipping as a child, snowmobiling, water skiing, and spending Friday nights at Lakeside Speedway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Mae Hunt; his parents, Theodore Cyrus and Thelma Faye Hunt; his sister, Bernice Faye Turner; his brother-in-law, John Herden Turner; and his son-in-law, Brian Lee Jennings.
T.C. is survived by his children: Deborah Kay Jennings of Liberty; Judy Lynn Compton (Dale) of Liberty; Elisa May Alexander of Liberty; Teresa Faye Beydler (Chris) of Excelsior Springs; and Steven Charles Hunt (Kim) of Liberty.
His 11 grandchildren: Brian Eudell Jennings; Dawn Marie Beydler (David) Jay; Melissa Renee Robinson (Lenny) Vandevelde; Jennifer Kay Jennings; Amy Michelle Beydler (Mike) Swope; David Allen Robinson; Charles Robert Compton; Benjamin Cole Compton; Brandi Jo Beydler; Olivia Mae Ann Hunt; and Sally Min Pearl Hunt; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He also had numerous nieces and nephews.
In his later years, T.C. cherished the tradition of Friday lunches with his family. He always looked forward to these special gatherings and deeply enjoyed the time spent sharing meals, laughter, and memories with those he loved most.
Visitation is at White Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside will follow at 6600 Northeast Antioch Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119. All are welcome to attend and celebrate T. C’s life.
