Tina was born April 15, 1960 to Patricia A Curiale-DeMarco and Thomas DeMarco. She grew up in the Northeast area of Kansas City and remained in Kansas City her entire life.
Patricia raised Tina as a bold and independent young woman. Their Italian culture was deeply rooted and something that Tina honored her entire life. When Patricia lost her battle to cancer, Tina took on the matriarch role and continued it throughout her life. Tina selflessly would put others' needs before hers and take care of her family.
In 1976, Tina became a mother, a gift she deeply cherished throughout her life. Tina shared her caring, protective, and kind motherly love with many but her greatest pride was in raising Nicole. On June 15, 1994, in Reno, NV, Tina married the love of her life Jerry. Together they blended their families and built an affectionate and supportive life together. She was blessed with the extension of her family and was thrilled to be a grandparent.
Tina invested everything into making sure things were put together and nice for everyone. When the grandkids were young, she and Jerry would decorate their home for them to enjoy and the neighbors always benefited from it. Christmas by far was her most favorite holiday. She was grounded in tradition by decorating, baking, and gathering with family.
Tina enjoyed cooking and would spend a lot of her time in the kitchen making meals or baking for anyone that she loved. Tina’s time in the kitchen was a ceremony for her, that wasn’t complete without music. Tina absolutely loved music. Earth, Wind, and Fire, and David Bowie were two of her favorites. It wasn’t just the music she loved; it was also dancing with the music. She always moved with the music, no matter where she was.
Concerts and festivals brought great joy to Tina. Live music was an exhilarating opportunity for Tina. She bonded with family and friends over this love. Friendship meant so much to Tina. She always attended her school reunions, and her friendships were lifelong. Tina was always there if you needed her and there even if you didn’t. Her smile was gorgeous, and her laugh was contagious. Her beauty was always on display both inside and out.
Tina possessed a deep love of animals, and she always had a dog (or 2) by her side. Tina loved all animals but had a special place in her heart for her pet children. There wasn’t a dog, cat, fish, or iguana that was a stranger, and she was an advocate for rescuing them.
She was a committed employee for the last twenty years at IAT insurance group. Her dedication and loyalty to her family and friends will be greatly missed. We are all forever blessed by Tina and her physical presence.
Tina is survived by her husband Jerry L. Ferguson, daughter Nicole A. DeMarco, three step-children Shon Guerrero, Jerri Burton, Bobbette Bolling, eight grandchildren and many other relatives including Aunt's, Uncle's and several cousins.
Her fiery, beautiful and loving soul will always be with us.
