Tommy Ray Dorsey born June 4, 1958 passed away June 14th, 2022. For the last five years he fought stage 3 lymphoma, stage 3 leukemia, a pacemaker, Parkinson's and in the end, stage 3 squamous lung cancer. In only three weeks the cancer collapsed his left lung and was already in the right. When asked what he wanted, he told his wife Gayla that he wanted to die at home. Once the hospital had his pain under control she brought him home to honor his wishes. June 6th started the end of his journey.
Tom was in both the Marines and then the Army. He drove over the road truck all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. Tom retired from owning a lawn care service. Tom was married to Gayla (Markley) almost 35 years. Tom was always quick to help others anytime there was a need. When you least expected it, his dry humor would have a smile and a laugh from those around him. Tom loved fishing, bowling, Thanksgiving dinners and most of all his wife Gayla.
Tom was preceded by his parents Carrell and Aline Dorsey.
Tom leaves behind his wife Gayla Dorsey of Kansas City, three children Melissa, Thomas and Crystal. Seven Grandchildren Aubrey, Christian, Allison, Devlin and Morgan, two Great Grandbabies Madilynn & Matyx. His sister Linda & three nieces Amanda, Erin, Kasey, Sydney and nephew Nikolaus. In-laws: Karen and Jerry, Gale and Linda, Julie and Brian. Larry ( for always being his friend ) and finally Shorty Buttons (Sir Barks allot). All that he loved very much.
It was a long happy life.
