Tyler Michael Denton, 22, passed away early Saturday morning, January 27, 2018. He was born April 10, 1995 in Kansas City, MO, to Gary and Theresa Denton. Tyler graduated from Staley High School in 2013, and was a member of the team that won the 2011 Missouri class 5A football championship in St. Louis, Missouri. Tyler was an amazing, compassionate young man who was taken from us too soon. He lit up a room as soon as he walked in, grabbing a beer with a smile on his face. His kind words and beaming personality made any day a great one. Those who knew Tyler, were graced with the best drinking buddy who laughed at all your jokes. For those who didn’t know Tyler, you missed out.
Tyler is survived by his mother, father, beloved sister and best friend, Andrea Celiene, and grandmother Lucille Denton. Tyler comes from a large family, including 30 cousins, 6 aunts and 6 uncles. Each family member will continue to cherish his memory and try to live in his legacy of putting others before themselves.
It is not a surprise, but a source of tremendous pride and admiration for his family to learn that Tyler took it upon himself to promise the greatest gift of sustaining continued life, with his personal commitment to the Midwest Transplant Network through the North Kansas City Hospital. His unselfish promise will benefit the lives of at least 50 individuals.
Tyler is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles F. Denton, and his maternal grandmother, Agustina Miranda.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Thursday, February 1, 2018 Holy Family Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00am till the mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a contribution in Tyler’s name to the Midwest Transplant Network. Their website is https://www.mwtn.org/.
