Valerie Nell Gearon

Valerie was born on February 14, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Bob Gearon, just two months ago and her father Daniel Turkington. Valerie is survived by her mother, Diane Turkington, her sister, Cynthia “Cindy” Turkington, two sons, Josh and Brad, two grandchildren, Haylie and Hunter and her beloved pups Blue and Houdini.

Valerie loved working for Marsh & McLennan Agency as an Accounting Specialist. She worked almost 40 years in the insurance industry. She enjoyed counted cross stitch and jigsaw puzzles, was a talented clarinet and keyboard player, and an excellent bowler once winning a state championship in Missouri. One of her favorite activities was long road trips with her family. Most of all, Valerie loved her family!

A Celebration of Life will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119, on June 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Livestream of this will also be available and beginning five minutes before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs.

Valerie’s mom Diane and sister Cindy would like to thank the nursing staff at KU Medical Center, Cambridge Tower A for their wonderful care and support. They treated us like family.
