Velonder Lee Gayden

Velonder Lee (Thomas) Gayden was born in San Diego, CA on August 23, 1966 to the union of Wesley and Velonder Thomas.

Velonder accepted Christ as her personal savior at Bethel Seven Day Adventist Church, in Kansas City, KS.

Little, as she was affectionately known, was passionate in helping to shape the lives of our youth, and she opened her home to many of her students in need.

Little served as an educator in the Kansas School District from 2016 until her untimely transition. Velonder departed this life on March 3, 2018.

She is survived by her father Wesley Thomas, of Kansas City, MO; mother, Velonder Alford, of Tacoma, WA; four sons, Wesley (Coy) Reed, Marcia Steward, Arvonte Gayden, and Xavier Gayden, all of Kansas, MO; two sisters Manuela (Marcus) Banks, of Chatham, IL, Adena Thomas, of Kansas City, MO; three brothers, Wesley Thomas, Jr., of Los Angeles, CA, Myles Thomas, of Kansas City, MO, and Trebion (Stacey) Dixon, of Puyallup, WA, three grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A special acknowledgement to a special friend, Ms. Sue and Ms. Teresa, and a surrogate son, Dominique Pride.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cancer Treatment Center of America, (10109 E 79 St; Tulsa, OK 74133) in honor of Velonder Gayden.

A Celebration of Life will be 11 AM Friday March 9, 2018 at Bethel SDA Church (6910 Riverview Ave; KC, KS 66104)

I was In Love With Velonder For a Very Long Time. I am So Very Sad To Know That She is Gone. I only Hoped for her to Recover from her Illness. I am Going to Miss Her Dearly. I am Truly Sorry for Her Family's Loss.. Vic........
