

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vicki Lee Spencer, of Liberty, Missouri, who passed away at her home on March 5, 2026, at the age of 75. Vicki was born on September 9, 1951, in Maryville, Missouri, and was raised in Bedford, Iowa. In 1975, she moved to Liberty, Missouri, where she spent the remainder of her life and built many lasting memories.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Addison Spencer and Mary Anna Lee Spencer; her beloved aunt, Irene Battle; her sister, Patricia “Trish” Ratterree; and her nephews, Matthew Ratterree and Devin Metcalf. She was also preceded in death by her cherished companion, her cat Taffy, who brought her many years of comfort and joy.
She is survived by her brothers, Ed (Carol) Spencer of Brookfield, Missouri, and Ricky Spencer of Marceline, Missouri. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, including Jennifer Lynn Smith, Cara Jo Hatfield, Curtis Spencer, Heather Cole, Ashley Eberhart, Brandi Spencer-Holman, Kristopher Ratterree, Crysta Beal, and Mike Spencer, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews who will fondly remember her.
Vicki enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved collecting movies, reading, and completing countless cross-stitch patterns. She was also an avid collector of recipes and enjoyed discovering new dishes. Vicki was a devoted fan of the musical group Il Divo and proudly collected their music over the years.
Vicki worked for Hallmark Cards in Liberty, Missouri, where she dedicated 34 years of service before retiring in 2012. She also found joy in the imaginative worlds of the Star Wars film franchise. Her favorite character was Han Solo, famously portrayed by Harrison Ford. In her free time, she could often be found relaxing and watching videos on YouTube.
Services to honor Vicki’s life will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri. Though we mourn her loss, we also celebrate Vicki’s life, the memories she created, and the love she shared with her family and those who knew her.
