Vincent was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 12, 1990, to Sherry and Joseph Polito. He graduated from Park Hill High School in 2009 and NW Missouri State University in 2013.
During his educational career, he developed a life-long love of books, movies, and the theater. Debate came naturally to him, and he was always ready to debate his mom, dad or brothers on subjects such as politics, the state of the world, finances, and many other ubiquitous topics. This passion led him to win a seat in the 2009 NFL National Speech & Debate Tournament.
Books became an integral and intertwined part of his soul, as he grew into manhood. The family would be remiss if they failed to acknowledge how J.K. Rowling’s, Harry Potter book series created an avid book lover in Vincent. From the time Vincent heard his first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, his imagination soared.
Until the day of his death, Vincent went to sleep listening to a rotation of the eight Harry Potter books. However, he was more widely read than just the Potter books. He loved to read numerous plays, Stephen King, Doris Goodwin, Jon Meacham, J.R.R. Tolkien, and too many Star War series authors to count.
Upon graduation from college, Vincent became wonderstruck by the Gypsy spirit, within his soul. He ventured throughout the Midwest, lived in Los Angeles for several years, and then a job opportunity took him to New York City. Wanting to travel the world, he opted to join the Navy five years ago. As luck would have it, Vincent was stationed, in what he described as “Paradise,” Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His sense of adventure led him to take up skydiving, hiking, snorkeling, and his absolute favorite, scuba diving.
Vincent thought of himself, as a serious member of the Chiefs Kingdom, regardless of where his travels took him. He was equally loyal to his beloved Kansas City Royals. There were years of phone conversations, with his dad and brother, Joe Mike over statistics and the state of affairs with the Chiefs and Royals.
Vincent was a multifaceted individual. He could play video games with the best of them. Warhammer 40K bonded him and his older brother, Anthony and was the source of numerous conversations between the two of them. As recently, as several months ago, Vincent purchased a complete miniature Warhammer 40K set, for his brother, and was in the process of painting the figures, after he laboriously glued them together.
To be perfectly honest, all the previous accolades pale in the face of his crowning achievement, NUMBER ONE BEST UNCLE EVER. From his nieces, 21-year-old Kali, 6-year-old Giavanna, 3-year-old Mia, and nephew, 21-month-old, Tony and soon to be born, great niece, Amora, all adored their Uncle Vince, and he, them. He doted on them, loved to spoil them, gave of his time to engage with their daily activities, even though he was so far away. ETV 2 Vincent Polito has now reported to his new duty station with a significant promotion to Guardian Angel status. They now have the best Guardian Angel looking after them.
It could be said that not only was Vincent a fabulous brother and uncle, but also a magnificent son. Lovingly attentive to his mom and dad, he called daily when possible. Generous to a fault, bringing his
parents to Hawaii, for two weeks this past November. As was his style, Vincent pampered and indulged them, cooking exquisite meals, excited to share new cuisines.
Vincent recently adopted a rescue dog, his black lab, Beau. He proudly referred to Beau, as his son born of summer. He was the most attentive father to Beau, as he was a loving uncle to his nieces and
nephew. Vincent loved and was loved by his brothers, fur babies, Bear, Nameless, Meeko, Solaris, Saru, Podo, and Inari.
Vincent was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Finis and Tony Polito; his maternal grandparents, Lois and John Eisler; and uncles, Larry Price and Jackie Daniels.
He is survived by his parents, Sherry and Joseph Polito; brothers, Anthony (Shawna) Polito and Joseph (Frances) Polito; nieces, Kali Polito, Giavanna Polito, and Mia Polito; nephew, Tony Polito; soon to be born great niece, Amora Morgan; honorary niece, Harper Marchisello; aunts, uncle, numerous cousins, his best life-long friend, Tanner Marchisello; and many other friends.
