Gennie was born January 31, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas and Ginny Bertuglia.

She lived all her life in the Kansas City area. After graduating from Manuel High School, she went on to work for the family owned business, Raytown Meat Market, as a travel agent and 15 years at Hallmark Cards as a purchaser. She was also a member of Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Gennie loved to travel which included 17 plus cruises and a trip to Italy. She loved to shop for clothes and decorations for her house. Her passion was for cooking and she taught her boys to cook her favorite Italian dishes. Gennie’s favorite holiday was Christmas with her family. She would spend weeks making cookies and preparing a feast.

She resided at John Knox Village for the past 3 years and was cared for by the wonderful staff, considering them part of her family.

Preceding Gennie in death was her first husband, Nazio (Babe) Treccariche and second husband, John Cascone, son Michael Treccariche, sister Mary Ann Bertuglia and brother Leonard Bertuglia.
