

Virginia Lee Gunter, 83, of Kansas City, MO passed from this life on February 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar; parents, Riley and Mildred Fisher; brother, Richard Fisher; and daughter-in-law, Sondra Gunter. Virginia is survived by her sister, Barbara Stanfield and her husband, Jack; sister-in-law, Judy Fisher; her daughter, Debbie Freeman and her husband, Mike; her son, Marty, and his wife Karen; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was born on September 30, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to Riley & Mildred Fisher and was the oldest of three children. She married her husband, Edgar Gunter on July 27, 1956 in Kansas City, MO, where they also raised their two children. Virginia became a Christian in the early 1960's and was a faithful member of the church throughout her life. She supported her husband in his service as one of the shepherds at Nashua church of Christ for nearly a decade until his death in February 2000. Virginia’s visitation and memorial will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home at 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119, with the visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and the memorial service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. A brief graveside service will follow the memorial on Tuesday at Mt. Washington Cemetery at 614 Brookside Drive, Independence, MO 64053. All are welcome to attend.
