Wanda Nadine Schnabel

Wanda was born April 2, 1931 to parents Wayne and Nona Ledbetter in rural Southern Missouri. When she was a teenager, the family moved to Wyandotte County, Kansas, where Wanda graduated from Wyandotte High School.

In November of 1959, she was married to David Schnabel. Together, they raised 3 children, Tammy, David Jr., and Michael, all residing in the Kansas City Metro area.

Wanda held fond memories of the 30 years she spent employed at Mid-Continent Public Library, and was frequently recognized and greeted by library patrons when she was out in the community. As an independent and driven woman, Wanda previously worked for Chrysler and Southwestern Bell as well.

Throughout her long and adventurous life, Wanda enjoyed traveling, collecting everything from quilts to Folk Art, and searching for that perfect sweet treat. She also enjoyed spending her time creating her own works of Art like quilts, embroidery and paintings.

Per Wanda’s wishes, there will be no public service, only a small family gathering.
