

Ann Christensen Dube, 82, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 13, 2014. Ann was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Dube. She was born on Dec. 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Brigham) Christensen.
Ann was raised in Old Wethersfield where she attended local schools. Spending time at the Cove was a place very near & dear to her heart. She was employed for many years as an education specialist for Hartford Financial Services and in her later years, was a volunteer for Hospice. She was always active, very involved in sports, especially as an avid tennis player. She enjoyed walking, watching the women’s UConn basketball games, and took great pride in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Ann was devoted to her family, having a special close relationship with her grandchildren. Ann was very social in her daily activities and she enjoyed vacationing with family and friends. She will be most remembered for being caring and kind to everyone, her special giving and generous nature will be dearly missed by the many people she touched during her lifetime.
Ann is survived by her children; son Robert J. Dube of West Barnstable MA, son Keith Dube of East Hartford, son Andrew Dube and his wife Elaine “Chip” of Charlottesville, VA, daughter Patricia Whitman of Manchester, her cherished grandchildren; Derek Dube and his wife Jennifer, Alexandra Dube, Darrel Whitman and Kristin Whitman, great grandson Greyson Dube, sister Barbara Bechtel, and many special friends.
A period of visitation will be held on Sunday August 18, 2014 11am-1pm at Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT 06033, with a Memorial Service to follow immediately at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to thank the caring and supportive staff at Buckingham Estates, Vitas Hospice and Visiting Angels for taking such wonderful care of Ann.
