Dick (& Joan): Hard to believe a year has passed already.  Was good to see you at our RHS reunion in September.  So glad I was able to find the pics for you of that picnic outing at the cabin in the early 50's. The farm land has been divided up and the dairy barn is now deteriorating badly--sad to see when I drive by. 
    Please convey warm regards to Linda (I always loved her laugh as a remarkable and very upbeat kid) and to Patty (who once dunked me in lake Terramaugas and who always seemed to win the parcheesi games), and of course to you--my closest friend in our very early years. I hope you continue to enjoyt the pics and the memories for a long time. I believe you have a special birthday coming up on the 15th--enjoy!

Dear Linda, I just read the weekly newspaper and was saddened to read your mom has passed.  Both of you were my favorite students in that over-crowded computer class at the senior center. 

Losing a parent, no matter their age, is really difficult.  You were blessed to have had her in your life for so long.  Dear friend, please extend our sympathy to your family; know we are thinking about all of you.

I was so sorry to read of your loss.  I so often remember your Mom, Ruthie and I taking our weekly trip to Willimantic for Weight Watchers and our visit afterwards for our reward The Donut Shop!  We also shared our trip to Pennsylvania, quilting classes, etc.  She is with Dad now they were such a pleasure to know and I will always remember them.

Patty, Dick, & Linda: A quick note to let you know I'm thinking of you and hold many great memories of your Mom, your Dad, your sister Sharon, and you guys.  I think the nicest memory was of our families (including the Rathburn's) having an all day picnic at Way's Pond--boating, etc--was it 1952?.  I remember the many sleep-overs (parcheesi games to see who had to do the dishes--the girls or the boys), and the time your Mom yelled out the window at Dick and me for waking them up at 5am--noisily trying to build a fire for breakfast, outside their bedroom window. I remember a funny incident when Dick and I threw Puddles (puppy) into the cows' water trough and then started to panic that Puddle's flea powder might kill all the cows.  Your Dad laughed at us when we tried to say Puddles "fell" in, and assured us we didn't need to worry.  Lots more mischievous memories. Keeping you in my thoughts and good wishes.

Dear Family,
I only met Ellie when I started going to the Senior Center about 8 years ago.  She was immediately one of my favorite people.  I was luck enough to share the
lunch table with her.  Discussions were always interesting and lively.  She has been really missed since she stopped  coming.  It has been some time since I saw her and I hope she  didn't endure any pain and suffering as the end was near

To Patty, Dick, & Linda:  Sorry to read of your mother's passing.  I will let my brother know.  He always tried to visit with her when he was up from Florida.  I'll always remember that your mom made the BEST chocolate chip cookies.  And of course, her celebrity as "the balloon lady" while she was in her eighties.  What a hoot!
