OBITUARY

Sharyn Alicia Haymond

June 8, 1949April 3, 2021

Sharyn Alicia Haymond, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Sharyn was born in Rochester, New York.

Her charm, sense of humor, passion for life and love, and ingenuity was seen and felt by everyone who crossed her path. Sharyn fully embraced and sought out beauty and love in the world around her, whether it be in her extensive travels or daily life. Sharyn was a professional model in her youth, where she was able to express her inner and outer beauty on the runway and in magazines. Her keen eye drew her to one of her ultimate joys - interior design - and was once featured and interviewed by Gayle King for her room design at the Mark Twain Christmas show house. Sharyn’s passion for beauty and spreading love led her to owning and operating Camille Bridal, in West Hartford, where she was hands-on in making brides feel the most beautiful on their special day. The New York Times honored Camille Bridal as “Best Of” in Connecticut.

Sharyn is survived by her sons, Jason Haymond, and his wife Sherri of Westport, and Cole Haymond, and his fiancé Kaitlyn Schick of Avon; a daughter, Lauren Zimmerman, and her husband Jeffrey of Darien; a longtime partner, Alan Dubiel of Farmington, four beloved grandchildren, and former spouse John Haymond of West Hartford.

Funeral Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Glastonbury Funeral Home, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, CT.

Donations in honor of Sharyn can be made to the Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org To leave a message for the family, please visit Sharyn’s obituary page at www.glastonburyfuneralhome.com

Jason, Lauren, and Cole,
I was sad to learn of your mom's passing. Both grandma and grandpa thought of Sharyn as their second daughter. In our younger days we spent many happy times together double
dating with lots of laughter and fun. I will always cherish the
day she asked me to be "Big Bird at Laurens birthday party.
May God Bless Her.
Love, Uncle Jerry

Sharyn

You were the love of my life and a true partner. Unfortunately, our marriage couldn’t last due to issues beyond our control. I will think of you with cherished memories and a warm glow in my heart forever.
