Wayne Jahn, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Delta Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado. Wayne was born in 1954 in Hartford, CT, and graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1972. He worked for the Glastonbury Parks and Rec Department, Hoffend Decorators as a set up coordinator for entertainment events, and for many years as a painting contractor. Wayne’s fondest memories include coaching a girls’ youth basketball team in Delta, and when he sang and played the drums with the local band, Spring Water Still (if you listen to the wind you can still hear him play).
Wayne will always be remembered for his quick humor, spontaneous laugh, and larger than life personality. He was at his best when surrounded by his friends and family always telling a joke or making someone laugh. Wayne had a compassionate, caring heart and always made himself available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Wayne was the eldest son of Nancy and Carl H. Jahn. He is survived by his father Carl Jahn and his partner Marion Eriksen of Delta, CO; his brother Larry and wife Patricia Jahn of Kensington, CT; and his brother Karl and wife Stacey Jahn of Andover, CT. He also leaves behind, with heavy hearts, his nieces and nephews Matthew, Jonathan, Sienna and LuAnna Jahn. Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Nancy Collins Jahn.
All are welcome to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, January 17, 2019, 4-6:30PM at Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury, CT., with a service celebrating Wayne's life to immediately follow at 6:30pm at the funeral home.
