Allene was a devoted wife to her husband and wonderful mother to her children. She was a defender and protector of her family and showed her great love in so many ways, big and small. Over the years, she opened her home and arms as a childcare provider and was known as “Mimi” to so many children of family, friends, or neighbors. Cooking for her family and others was one way she also showed her love. She was a tremendous cook, and her signature dish was chicken and dumplings with scrumptious lemon drizzle cake to follow. NO ONE EVER PASSED THESE UP!
Her hobbies included sewing, crafting, fishing and squirrel hunting. She sewed clothes for her kids when they were young and then sewed her own outfits to tailor quality. Anytime a baby was born, she would sew a blanket or two or three or more. She loved giving to others.
Her favorite pastime was fishing AND, she had two rules:
1. she would bait your hook once and after that, you were on your own.
2. if the fish had 3 scales, it was a keeper.
To her, fishing was serious business, and she was not to be disturbed while her line was out.
Allene was a member of Truth Tabernacle Church in Avondale since 1986. She loved God, her pastors and ministers, and her church family. She had many lifelong friendships and was always doing whatever she could to bless the church body. She loved singing and harmonizing, cooking and baking up a storm.... especially her peanut brittle and candy. She loved laughing and making others laugh too. She was very authentic and a believer in Truth and her God.
This world won’t be the same without her and Heaven is a little bit louder with her laughter, too.
