

Amalia Muñoz Cazarez, born on July 10, 1951, in Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 73 in Phoenix, Arizona. Amalia was a resilient, hard-working, and honest woman who touched the lives of many with her unwavering spirit and dedication.
Amalia grew up on a ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States when she was 20 years old, setting the stage for a life filled with love and adventure. She was a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, where she built her life and family.
Amalia is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Harjo and Sue Ellen Sanchez, as well as her two sisters, Marcella Garcia and Rita Muñoz De Marquez, and her brother, Juan Muñoz Mariscales. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren: Keeneh Harjo, Fernanda Muñoz, and Emiliano Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosario Muñoz and Rita Mariscales, her daughter Jacqueline Valle, and ten siblings.
Amalia had a passion for gardening, spending time outdoors, and enjoyed crochet, music, dancing, cooking, and baking pumpkin empanadas. She cherished her travels to Mexico and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In the words of her family, "She will live forever in our hearts."
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale. In lieu of black clothing, Amalia's family requests that you wear clothes that are bright or pastel colors.
