

Amalia married Ruben Galaviz on July 1, 1956, and they shared almost 67 years of marriage prior to his passing, less than four months ago, on June 16, 2023.
She enjoyed her random trips to the casino and participating in the church choir. Participating with the mariachi group Amalia formed with friends from St. Catherine’s parish brought her joy too.
Amalia is survived by three children Monica Santos, MaryAnn Galaviz & Ruben (Claudia) Galaviz, six grandchildren Alex (Renee) Santos, Sarah (Chris) DeLeon, Marissa (Manny) Galvez, Stephanie (Joaquin) Santos, Michael Galaviz & Samuel Galaviz, nine great-grandchildren Maya DeLeon, Breanna DeLeon, Xavier DeLeon, Dominick Santos, Andrew Santos, Alani Santos, Devin Santos, Donavon Santos & Aiden Galvez and five siblings Andrea, Leonard, Mary, Fernando & Jerry.
In addition to her husband and parents, a sister Anita, and two brothers Julian &Gilbert, preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
