

Andres Solis lost his battle with cancer, caused by Agent Orange exposure while serving our country, on November 12, 2023. He was born on April 5, 1946, in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico to the late Antonio Solis and Francisca Caro.
On January 27, 1968, Andres married his high school sweetheart, Maria Rogelia Caldera. They have shared almost 56 years of marriage.
Andres served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Serving from December 14, 1965 to March 14, 1968. Andres earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart among other recognitions. He was retired at the young age of 22, as well as disabled.
He worked as a machinist for many years and retired in 2011. Andres served as Jr. Vice Commander at VFW Post 9148 during 2006-2007 in La Mirada California.
Andres was a hero in many ways, he was always there to lend a hand, be supportive, and give many reasons to smile. He was a selfless man who worked hard and helped many. He had an unforgettable and contagious smile, his love of music, and dancing, will be a tradition in his family. He taught the meaning of respect and responsibility, especially the meaning of being a strong family unit.
He is survived by his wife Maria Rogelia, five children Elia (Jose) Pineda, Diana (Andy) Valenzuela, Antonio (Antoinette) Solis, Isela (Ernesto Curiel) Solis & Jose (Susanna) Solis, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 4 sisters.
In addition to his parents, Andres was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 4-8 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023. Burial with military honors will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
