Andrew would occasionally bring the mail to the office at Thunderbird High School. He was always so joyful and kind.
He would go out of his way to address all of the staff by name and asked us how we are doing or commented on something we had shared with him. Like the arrival of children/grandchildren. I will miss seeing his smiling eyes and pray the family has peace. God Bless.

Worked with Andy at the District for 20+ years Always a smiling face with his coffee and newspaper at my work truck ! Always talking about Classic Rock because I was listening to loud rock in the morning!  The workhorse of the District. Rhonda always appreciated him  alot!   You will be missed greatly. Andy there no words that I can say, of the pain and loss I have for you. But I miss you dearly.  You left me too quick, now all I have is your memories. When I step out of the house, I won’t see you anymore.  Always yelling saying good morning, or just to talk, or giving me the newspaper for coupons.  You were my blood, and I will never let your memories die. Love you with all my heart my nephew.  

Andy was a kind man who had respect for himself and others. He always had a kind word to greet me whenever I saw him.Rest in peace!

My mom Terry Martinez, would drop me off every summer since I was 7yrs old. I would spend the summer at my Mimas and Tio Andy’s house. My Tio Andy would teach me stuff a father would teach his son. I saw him like a dad. Since mine passed away when I was 4. I learned many things. From Chores to Morals. Common sense. Respect. And how to take care of my mom. And family. To this day.. actually the weekend before he passed, I was supposed to stop by and see him.. he was in good health. He was Tio Andy. Cleaning his front yard. He saw my truck. He said, “Isaac, how much are your payments?” I said $800. He said, u can afford it? I said yes. I pay $1,000. To pay it off faster. He said where do u live. I said a house and an apartment.. he said u can afford that?! I said yes Tio. I worked hard just like u taught me. And I can have all these nice things… thank you Tio. 
He said, “Well, I’m proud of you.” I went to shake his hand to say goodbye, and he pulled me in for a hug. It was the best hug. He was proud of me.

Andy left us so many beautiful memories to last us a life time. He was so sweet and caring to our family and always ready to help us. 
Just want to let the family know when I brought Lupita home she cried for days but now she is happy. She is so sweet and loving, you can tell Andy showed her lots of love. It's  like having a part of your brother here with us. Thank you for giving her back to us.

The neighborhood feels like it lost its light-it’s heart. You were the neighborhood’s Mr. Fix-it, neighborhood watch man, handy man, landscaper, care taker and you did it all with genuine love- never expecting anything in return. I will always be thankful  for the love you gave my nana and tata. You were their angel. I miss seeing you and waving to you across the street and knowing you are not there hurts. I am sure the Lord lovingly welcomed you with the words, “well done my good and faithful servant”. God bless you Andy.

Let me just start that I worked with Andy for 20 years at the District & he was the person everyone counted on. I always wished he would take time for himself but he wouldn't hear of it that wasn't Andy. They will never be able to replace him because everyone looked forward to seeing him every day. RIP my dear friend!

Andy you left us too soon, we thought you would be around us for a long time. When we last saw you at work,you looked 
strong, happy and full of life.  We still  can't believe you are physically gone from us. Andy you were a hard worker and always helping the elderly and the most vulnerable of us. As a worker you opened up the gates at GUHSD every morning  but now  I'm sure you will be helping  Saint Peter open up the Pearly Gates of Heaven.  You will always be in our hearts my brother until the day that we meet again with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We love you.
