A native Phoenician, Ann graduated from North Phoenix High School and Phoenix College. She was a member and active in speech & drama clubs, honor board, theatre and school government. She said her years at PC were two of the happiest of her life. It was there, she met her future husband.
Jack joined the army and was sent to San Francisco, where Ann followed. After 15 wonderful months there, his unit was sent to Germany. Ann moved home to await the birth of their first child, Sheri. Upon his return, children David and Linda were born.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, but needed more after all the kids were in school. She found the world of real estate sales her perfect niche, which she pursued for 47 years. She said real estate was the second most rewarding aspect of her life, following her family.
Timeout was taken in the early 80’s (as a single mom) to return to college. She attended Grand Canyon University and graduated in 1984 with a degree in training and counseling. From 1975 to 1985, she also became a real estate trainer and frequent speaker at women’s groups with a focus on goal setting and building self-esteem.
After finishing at GCU, she returned to active real estate sales and also helped her daughter at her bakery, Victorian Cake Co. between 1991 - 2011. Due to health problems, she retired from real state in 2008 at the age of 75.
Ann loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed being with them all at holidays and special occasions. In her spare time, she created many needle works for her loved ones, enjoyed reading, gardening and most of all talking and giving advice.
She is survived by her brother, John Hadley, three children, Sheri, David and Linda, three grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer and Kyle.
Arrangements under the direction of West Resthaven Funeral Home, Glendale, AZ.
