

Arras Anne Gardner Moffat, 87, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025. Born January 13th, 1938 in Portland, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Moffat Alexander Cowen Gardner and Beatrice Arras Gardner.
Arras graduated from Arizona State University, became a special education teacher and taught for over 30 years, including teaching for two years in Japan. While in Japan, she climbed Mount Fuji. Arras loved to travel and went to Scotland and Ireland in recent years. Her favorite place to live while growing up was in Germany. Arras absolutely loved her dogs and always had 2 or 3, mostly teacup poodles. She spent more than 45 years living in Glendale, Arizona, always aiming to one day have a home in Sun City. She accomplished her goal in 2015 when she bought a home in Sun City West, where she lived for over 7 years. These were some of the happiest years of her life.
She is survived by her two daughters, Arras Martin and husband, Dave, of Pine, AZ, Leslie Underwood and husband, Brett, of Pine, AZ; three sons, Douglas MacDonald and wife, Joanne, of Toms River, NJ; Dennis MacDonald, of Pensacola, FL; Carl MacDonald (deceased) survived by his wife, Susan, of Lincoln, Maine; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Bethe Bennett, of Glendale, AZ; brother, Scott Gardner (deceased).
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 24th, 2026 at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
