Austin was a hard-working man with a heart as wide as the open road he loved to travel.
A devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, Austin lived his life with quiet strength, fierce loyalty, and a genuine kindness that left a mark on all who knew him. He was the kind of man who got the job done without ever asking for recognition—every load delivered, every mile driven, a silent testimony of his character.
After being diagnosed with leukemia, Austin faced his terminal illness with bravery and clarity.
In the time he was given, he made the most important decision of his life—he turned his heart over to God. His desire was not only to make Heaven his home, but that you would too. His testimony now stands as a call to others: don’t wait, give your heart to the Lord while there is still time. He is survived by his loving parents, Dustin and Michelle Schroff, sisters Ashlyn Bercovich and Madison Maurice, brothers Houstin, Preston, and Gatlin, nieces Ezri and Blakely and a host of family and friends who will miss his laughter, his stories, and the sound of that diesel engine rolling down the road. Austin’s final ride will be honored on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Avondale Church of God. (2605 N. Avondale Blvd, Avondale, AZ)
Viewing will be held from 8:00 to 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral at 9:30 AM, with Pastor Keenan Ward presiding. Internment will take place at 11:30 AM at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona, with Brother Jack Roberts holding the graveside service. A fellowship meal will follow back at the church. He was a brother and friend to many and a hero to the few who understood the sacrifices of the road. Austin’s story doesn’t end here, it continues on streets of gold.
“This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” —
