hi grandma. it’s been three years today and i’m still so lost. i miss you and i can speak for everyone else that we just want you back. but that’s not right because you are dancing and singing with uncle todd and grandpa gary. i often find new ways to honor you and today is wearing your pearls that you gave me and one of your shirts. i wish i could be spending the day with you.  the thought of it being three years since i said my last goodbye haunts me. and all i can say is that i just miss you. honoring you forever grandma💗🎗️

I was a former student of Mrs. Landon at Tomahawk Elementary School (Class of 1995). She taught myself, and my three sisters (The Begany Sisters) throughout our tenure there. She was absolutely incredible. I never had, nor have ever had another teacher, like her. I remember her showing us her autographed picture of Ronald Regan, her tricking all of us on our first day of school ("If you have never been to North America, please stand up"), her amazing way of teaching, and her absolute love of space. I was actually watching a special on the Challenger shuttle when I looked her up, and saw her obituary. 
I am so saddened by her passing and sad to see she had to have a private ceremony. She touched the lives of numerous children that she taught. She inspired my love of learning, and I always, ALWAYS wanted to impress her. She is one teacher I have thought about often, and fondly. 
To her family, you were so blessed to have such an incredible person in your lives. I wanted her to be my grandmother so bad! Thank you for taking care of her, and thank you for sharing her with the rest of us. 

Aubry Cahill (Begany) 

Betty was a very kind woman and I was greatful enough to be her grandson. She did everything she could to help me achieve greatness in life. She was always very active in her church and in her community. Although it has been some time since she has passed I will always have the great memories with her. It brings me great peace knowing that she has finally been reunited with Gary and Todd

here’s another one , my favorite memories with her. we used to make dinners for every special occasion together and would mess with eachother for fun just by smearing food on eachother or being “taste testers” together or criticizing each other’s work. we always had the best time together , i think the worst part about this is coming in her house and forgetting that she’s gone and say “hi grandma!” and getting no response , linda , my aunt , my father my brothers and i took care of her right through the end. i stayed at her house from the last time she went to the hospital till the end and didn’t leave her side. in the last moments i just  miss so much  listening to her talk about people i didn’t know and laughing with her about random things or drawing her pictures or notes to look at to remind her how much i love her when she would wake up . i miss holding her hand to make her feel safe falling asleep , i even miss the hard nights when i had to help her and even when it got hard on me to help her she was truly so beautiful and kind and i miss her more every minute. i just feel like it all went by so fast and none of us could grab it. this is truly the hardest thing ever , i still don’t know what to do without her and it’s been two months , i’m a wreck but i’m just so happy she got what she wanted and is out of pain. i miss her more every day and it feels like it gets harder every day. thank you to everyone so much that has been so kind to my family of my father , linda and my brothers , we appreciate it so much. i miss you so much grandma i love you more than words can explain<3.

Betty was so much more than an exceptional Teacher.  Her devotion to her Husband, Sons, Grandchildren, Friends and Pets was unwavering. Betty looked after her neighbors and her community.  After she retired she worked for the Court System as a Volunteer and mediated cases in the Small Court cases and worked with victims of crimes which she herself was one.Betty had incredible skills as an Artist and made a room full of Dolls that she brought to life. Many were of former Students that she mentored. Betty led a righteous life and selflessly took care of her Aunt Pidge to the very end. Betty had to endure the tragic loss of her son Todd 3 years ago. If not for her love of Jeff and his children I don't think she could have gone on. They took loving care of her to the end. I will forever miss her and know that Gary and Todd where there to meet her. I forgot to mention the time and energy she gave to her church for years and the joy she brought to children while volunteering as an accomplished Clown in full costume. So much more than I can list here. I was so lucky to have known her. There are not many like her.
