Carlos is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He honorably served the United States Army and then moved into a career with United States Postal Service. After 34 years of faithful service, Carlos retired in 2008 to pursue his other passion, fishing and supporting fellow veterans. After retirement, Carlos spent his time as an active member of the Desert Warriors, LLC, Dysart High School Alumni and countless other activities supporting local military veterans.
Carlos, age 72, is survived by his wife Juanita M. Carbajal; daughters Jessica C. Dudney, Lisa M. Carbajal, and son, Carlos M. Carbajal. He also had three loving grandsons, Andrew J. Sorensen, Carlos J. Carbajal and Jason A. Carbajal.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona on 19 May 1948, Carlos was predeceased by his father, Carlos C. Carbajal; mother, Jessie A. Carbajal; and brother, Ernesto Carbajal. He is also survived by his brothers, Ted Carbajal, Joe Carbajal, Mike Carbajal and sisters, Eloisa Chavez, Margie Rivera, Esther Saldivar, Yolanda Sandoval and Sally Ortega.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301 on Wednesday, April 28th at 1 PM.
