I never imagined ringing in the New Year without you but here we are without you. I am happy that you are in peace with no pain and you are celebrating all the glory heaven has for you. Words can't even express how blessed I am to have the memories I had with my Grandmother and I will cherish those memories for the rest of my days. Well Nana, another day has come and gone and I still miss you more and more. I would be at work and call you on my lunch to check up on you. You would always answer "Hi my baby, are you working? How's my Papa Chulo Gabriel?" I miss hearing your voice, I miss your hugs, your big kisses on my forehead, I miss sitting down at your feet and laying my head on your lap and you would play with my hair. My nana was my best friend, for almost two years I was with her every day as her care taker and every day was a blessing that I will forever cherish. Growing up nana was the only one who understood my love for clothes jewelry and makeup, whenever nana would take my siblings and I along on her weekly shopping trips I was the one attached at her hip looking for the cutest outfits and shoes while the rest would be playing amongst the racks, wandering off. Now as a 19 year old half the things in my closet are things my nana gave me because she knew I would be the only one who would appreciate her taste in fashion and the other half are things inspired by her. My Nana was the most beautiful, kind and selfless woman I will ever meet. She taught me how to be an amazing woman, and in the future, mother, grandmother and wife. I will forever live my life with her lessons in mind and heart. Rest in Peace Nana, you will forever love on in my heart.

I wish there were words to express my sadness on learning of your loss.

Oh my nana! Words cannot express how much you meant to me. You and I spent many days together going on adventures. I am truly blessed to have you as my Nana!
