Carol Ann Hobson

Carol was born on May 20, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The daughter of Herbert & Zelpha Dorny. She was the middle child of two sisters, Linda Silvey, the older, and Emily Pederson, the younger. A few years after graduating from San Pedro High School in 1965, she met her first husband & father to her children, Michael McFarland.

They moved to Glendale, Arizona in 1978 where they raised six children: Kelli Johnson, Amanda Manning, Brian McFarland, Teri Leffler, Heather McFarland, & Meghan Jensen. She was a devoted wife & mother creating a loving home & wonderful memories for her children. Carol was an ASU alumni with a degree in teaching.

On April 1, 2005, she married her current husband Carlos H. Hobson. He brought his own six adult children into her life, making the grand total 12 kids. Together they have 41 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. They love their family, and their lives revolve around them. Carol served with Carlos, in the Phoenix Temple together, until illness brought her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda, along with one sweet great grandson, Sonny Rosado.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Carol Hobson’s honor on November 29th, 2025, at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 14916 N. Sarival Ave., AZ. Carol will be laid down to rest by family that afternoon at the West Resthaven Cemetery.

Rest in peace & free of pain, dear mother. Your memory will live on in our hearts, which are comforted by the knowledge that we will see you again.
