Carol was like my second mother. Her daughter Christine and I have been best friends since birth. Carol has taught me the true definition of unconditional love. She and Joe had so much love to give. They were always giving, never judged anybody, and never gave up on anybody. Below is a photo of Carol and I, with Joe and my son Shawn behind us. I have a message from Carol's daughter Christine, since she is not able to get onto the internet:
"I LOVE YOU MOM, YOU WERE THE BEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD AND I MISS YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE. I LOVE YOU!!
YOUR DAUGHTER, CHRIS"

We raised our families at the same time, and the kids were all good friends. We have many fond memories we shared at the Methodist Church, through P.E.O., and at the Christmas Sing. You will be missed dearly, Carol.

To Joseph Mayer and family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of our and your dear Carol. A gem, always helping and sharing her life with everyone. I worked with her many years at GFUMC as she directed Children's choir, Christmas programs and in teaching Sunday School. Happy I was able to take your pictures at the Renewal of Vows for GFUMC 125th celebration. Memories live on.
May God be with,
Erma Garling

The best memory I remember is having Mayer family Xmas gathering at Carol & Joes house in Glendale. Some of the first pool party memories come from the same warm and loving Aunt and Uncle. I wished we could of met up so she could of met Debbie while they were docked for a night in Cabo and Debbie and I were staying near by. Your love will be missed.
