Cathy McClellan, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, July 17th. Cathy was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Del and Betty Denham on August 3, 1956. She is one of three children, being survived by her father Del, sister Sharon Denham and brother Wayne Denham.
She was married 29 years to her husband John McClellan. They spent the beginning years of their marriage ballooning with their family. Cathy’s life focus was her family. She was a best friend to both her kids, Stephanie and Bryan and would selflessly help them in all their endeavors. She helped to guide them through their life journey, ensuring they were always loved and supported. This love was amplified with the birth of her grandson, Jameson, who very much resembles her with his bright red hair and feisty attitude.
Cathy was also passionate about the well-being of animals. She spent her life working at animal hospitals and volunteering alongside veterinarians and Animal Rescue organizations. Throughout her life, Cathy adopted numerous dogs and cats, and would rarely be seen without one of them sitting on her lap.
Along with rescuing animals, Cathy also loved helping people. She worked in the medical field for many years as a secretary to a surgeon. Her passion for the medical field continued as her and John opened and ran a pharmacy for over 25 years.
Cathy’s favorite place was to be by the ocean and listen to the sound of the waves as well as her favorite Led Zeppelin track. Long talks on the phone to her family members along with many visits brought her joy later in life. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Cathy are welcome to attend a celebration of her life to reminisce and support each other.
