

Charles Carlton Pitts, 76, was born on November 27, 1940, in Phoenix, AZ, and went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2017, in Phoenix, AZ. Carlton was a native to Arizona who graduated from Glendale High School and attended the University of Arizona. He served as a firefighter for seven years for the City of Glendale and in 1971 took over the family business, Glendale Floral & Gifts, with the same enthusiasm and compassion as his father did.
An avid aviation fan, Mr. Pitts had his private pilot’s license and was a member of AOPA. He cared very dearly for his city and served on the Glendale Development Committee, as well as a member of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Glendale Rotary Club and numerous affiliations near to his heart.
Mr. Pitts loved his family dearly and is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Pamela Henrichsen (Christian); a son Christopher Pitts (Wendy); four step children, Nancy Tovarz (Andy), Doug Sexton (Sherry), Julie Moebus (Ken) and Sally Kaul (Ron); many grandchildren and great grandchildren including Bishop and Thatcher Vance.
Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, June 2, 2017, at Chapel of the Chimes for the visitation. Carlton’s life will be celebrated at The First United Methodist Church of Glendale, June 3, 2017, at 10:00 AM where immediately following he will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery. Please make donations to American Lung Association of Arizona, Phoenix, so that they can continue to find a cure for COPD and help those who suffer from this disease. Mr. Pitts was very loved and will be missed by many, but his memory will live on forever. God Bless.
