

She was born November 4, 1936 in Van, West Virginia, to Virgil and Hazel Martin. She grew up with four sisters and one brother in a small rural town.
She married Esley Campbell in August 1954. Together they had five children. Her husband spent four years in the Air Force and that duty brought them to Arizona in the 1950’s. They returned to West Virginia where they started their family of five children. In 1977 she and Esley packed up a trailer and moved the family back to Arizona, where they spent the remainder of their lives. Over the years Charlotte worked at various jobs in the custom window covering industry. However, her true passion was being a homemaker, mother and seamstress.
Her interests included sewing, crafting, going to the casino playing slot machines and her weekly outings to play BINGO. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very loving and caring person. All that knew her, thought much of her.
She is survived by three sisters, Gretta Mellich, Mona Whittington and Brenda Carter; 1 son and his spouse, Eddie Campbell; 4 daughters and their spouses, Debi Shields, Kim Johnson, Sandy English, and Lisa Zygmunt; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Esley Campbell; her sister, Gaye Shamblin; her brother Tony Martin.
Service will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home located at 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona. Visitation, December 7th from 5:00 to 8:00PM. The Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday December 8th at 10:00AM, also at West Resthaven Funeral Home. A gathering to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held, immediately following the service, at her daughter's home; 5318 W. Aire Libre Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85306.
