The oldest of eight children, Christy was born in Wellston, GA on March 19, 1927, to the late Floyd and Bessie Lou Vinson.
Christy was predeceased by her beloved husband Jerry R. Hyde in 1981. She wed Jerry on February 5, 1944. While he was deployed to Germany he sent his new bride to Prescott to live with his parents until his return. Christy and Jerry owned and operated Jerry Hyde’s Auto Supply, which she continued to run for several years after Jerry’s death.
She is survived by four children Dixie (Jim) Caudle, Karolyn (Rob) Planty, Michael (Catherine) Hyde & Joyce (Larry Griffith) Johnson, four grandchildren Steven (Lisa), Michaela, Darell & Clifford (Anna) and a great grandson Colby.
Her beautiful smile, wicked sense of humor and sunny personality will be sorely missed. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00AM at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
