Christine Pierson

Pierson, Christine went home to be with her Savior on January 24, 2015, at the age of 85. She was born October 21, 1929, in Summit Hill, PA, the daughter of Samuel and Christine Peruch. Predeceased by her husband of almost 40 years, Richard in 2010, her sisters Mary and Ruth and her brothers John and Joseph.

Christine is survived by her son, Lloyd Rathburn and her daughter Doree Stratmeyer, her stepson, David Pierson;

her grandchildren, Karee (James) Hesson and Christopher Pruitt; five great-grandchildren; Joshua, Jeffrey, Mathew, Samantha and Raymond

who affectionately called her “Big Nana” and two great – great-grandchildren; Haley Rose and Jeffrey, Jr.; her sister Rose Hann and her brothers David Peruch and Daniel Peruch.

She made friends wherever she went. She was tireless with her family, her home, her friends and her job, that she was retired from

One of her greatest joys was holiday family feasts. Lots of laughter with stories of past events, future hopes and dreams, a splash of confusion

and gourmet food, all planned and orchestrated by her. She found joy in singing gospel hymns and reciting bible verses. She had a treasure trove of poems and funny little ditties that made all those around her smile with laughter. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and the memory of Christine will be cherished by many. She will be greatly missed until we see her again in heaven.

A memorial service will be held at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301, on Monday, February 2, 2015, with viewing from 10:00am to 11:00am and services to follow.
