

Clara Mary Benesch, 92, passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 15, 2014, at Vintage Park of Osawatomie Assisted Living with her daughter, Janet Gutierrez by her side. She was born on February 28, 1922, in Latrobe, PA., to Walter and Sophie Konjura. Survivors include her three daughters, Judy Trohan and her husband John of Virginia, Janet Gutierrez of Kansas and Jeanne Downey of North Carolina. She has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Clara was a hard worker throughout her life and was admired for her cooking and baking skills. She held many different positions in the food industry in both Cleveland and Phoenix before settling in Kansas. She always remembered her family and friends favorite pie, which she made for them when they came to visit. She always had an extra place available at the dinner table for her family, friends and strangers. Later in life she was known as the jokester, whom she thoroughly enjoyed telling jokes, having a great sense of humor and making people laugh. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eyes, as she loved to share their pictures and their accomplishments. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Laddie Ludwig Benesch, her beloved grandson Jeffrey David Trohan and her son-in-law Albert John Gutierrez. She was also preceded in death by her 5 brothers, one sister and various nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 10:30am on Saturday April 26th 2014 at Green Acres Mortuary 5830 W Missouri Ave. Glendale, AZ 85301. A Catholic Service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am followed with the burial at Holy Cross Cemetery with a short prayer at the graveside.
