Connie "Chelo" Galaviz Ortiz, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on September 8, 1935, in Phoenix, Arizona, Chelo was raised in Tolleson, Arizona.
Chelo is survived by her children, Frankie, Delia, and David, as well as five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco O. Ortiz, her father, Antonio Cruz Galaviz, her mother, Ynez Pineda Galaviz, one grandchild, and her siblings: brothers Antonio "Tony" Galaviz and Alfredo Galaviz, and sisters Hortencia "Tencha" Galaviz Garcia, Luisa Galaviz Flores, Ruth Galaviz, Amalia Galaviz Leal, and Ernestina "Tina" Galaviz Sanchez.
A visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Avenue in Glendale, Arizona, on June 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same location on June 30, 2025, starting at 10:00 am, followed by a committal service at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
Chelo's memory will be cherished by her family and friends, and she will be remembered for her loving and devoted nature.
