On August 25, 2025, Constance (Connie) K. Ronfeldt, passed away after a 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She did not lose the battle. She fought until her last breath, but her poor body couldn’t keep up with her mind and spirit any longer.
Connie was originally from Irwin, Iowa. When she was 16 years old, she moved in with close friends, Joan and Hub Paulsen, who opened their home to her. They quickly became family and remained family. She eventually followed them to Chicago and then on to Arizona, where she remained for the rest of her years.
Connie had an incredible work ethic. She was proud to have worked at HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center or 52 years. She almost never missed a day of work, and only retired due to her illness. She also really loved her job, and she cherished the friendships she made over the years while working there.
She was a single mom who raised her son proudly by herself. She worked hard and sacrificed a lot to make sure he was cared for.
Anyone who knew her would say she had an incredible sense of humor. She was fun to be around and knew how to make you laugh. She also had a sense of adventure that only those close to her probably got a glimpse of.
Connie felt close to her siblings, and some of her favorite stories to tell were about her summer trips back to Iowa with her son to visit them along with other family and friends. She loved living in Arizona, but Iowa was always her roots.
She dedicated most of her time and energy to loving her family. She was a prominent part of her son’s, her daughter-in-law’s and her grandkids’ lives. That was what she was most proud of, and loved them fiercely.
Connie is preceded in death by her father Ray Ronfeldt and her mother Shirley Alvarez.
She is survived by her son, Trent Ronfeldt, daughter-in-law Rachel Ronfeldt, her grandson Corbin Ronfeldt, her granddaughter Julianna Ronfeldt, her brother Ron Ronfeldt and sister-in-law Sandra Ronfeldt, her sister Sandra Beals, her sister Kimberly Doty, and her sister Angie Ronfeldt.
Connie touched many lives, and will be terribly missed, but now she is free from her illness, and we know someday we’ll be with her again.
In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to Project Purple or Hospice of the Valley.
