

Curtis was born on March 6, 1931, in Slat, Kentucky, to Shade and Myrtie Crabtree. The youngest of twelve children, he grew up in a close-knit family. After graduating from high school, Curtis proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On November 25, 1951, he married the love of his life, Connie Chimenz.
A devoted husband and loving father to five children, Curtis worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He was a gifted storyteller, musician, and artist, with a deep love for reading and studying the Bible. Curtis supported and encouraged the passions of each of his children, always putting them before himself.
Curtis lived by the belief that it is better to give than to receive. His generosity knew no bounds, and his radiant smile would light up any room. He had a rare ability to bring people together and resolve conflict with grace and wisdom.
Curtis is survived by his wife of 74 years Connie. His 5 children: Dorothy, Steven, Yvonne, Kenneth and Curtis Jr. along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, located at: Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301 Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Visitation and Brunch will begin at 11:00am Memorial Service will begin at 12:00pm. Funeral Procession will leave promptly at 1:00pm to Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd
Phoenix, Arizona 85024. Grave Site Ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00pm
