

Dave was raised in Braintree, Massachusetts graduating from Archbishop Williams High School. He was a big Red Sox’s and Celtic’s fan and a church lector. Dave went to Northeastern University for one year and left college to prepare for the draft. He opposed the Vietnam War but never returned to college. Dave played baseball in the Boston Park League.
He worked as a phlebotomist in the 70’s at Brockton Hospital in Massachusetts and after moving to Arizona in 1976 he worked in security and as a counselor at Arizona Boys Ranch. Dave then worked as Assistant Chief of Security at the Phoenix Art Museum in the early 1980’s. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years, 15 years as a letter carrier and 10 years as a clerk. Dave served as union steward from 1984-2009. After retiring from the USPS, he went to work at Deer Valley Unified School District as a monitor and an aid, working with special needs children and kindergarten students.
Dave married Patty Wright on April 20, 1991; they have shared just over 32 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Patty, three brothers Paul, Mark & Greg and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, two sisters Janyce Whitney & Marie O’Connor preceded him in death.
