Uncle Dave is what he fondly became known to me. I spent countless hours over the last three years with Uncle Dave listening to his words of wisdom, funny stories, and his never ending love for good music. I play all those great hits he and I both loved so much in his honor to this day. I can still hear him say, "Coach Vee these kids don't know nothing bout good music..right?' I love and miss you Uncle Dave. You presence is missing pushing that grey cart across the gym floor listening to the music you loved. I know your in heaven sharing it with the good man up above.

I am deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of my loving husband. David "Bud" Shepherd 12/18/1961 - 10/12/2024. He is rejoicing in heaven with his father. His love rains down on us all.
David “Bud” Shepherd. (62) passed away unexpectedly on October 12th, 2024, with family by his side.  Born December 18th, 1961, to David Rachel and Carol Sue Shepherd, Bud lived his rambunctious young life in Benton Harbor, MI with his four siblings Rhonda (Dave) Bennet, Kevin (Tamara), Jason (Jill) and Jerrod along with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby. Marrying Kim where they had their two children Brandon of California and Bethany (Joe) of Michigan. Bud’s dream came true having two beautiful Granddaughters Addison Grace and Aeon Nix.  After moving to Arizona in 2012, he met the love of his life and best friend Atanya. She added two sons to his enormous heart, Austin (Alissa) and Dylan.  Forever proud of his four children, touting them as “his greatest accomplishments,” loving them greater than he ever imagined possible. There was not a day that went by he did not boast about how proud he was of his children.Bud was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. Bud loved his family more than anything and made sure to spoil each one of us. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his friends and family. His outrageous stories and his sense of humor. Bud lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of it.  Proceeded in death by his father, mother-in-law, aunts, uncles, niece and stepdaughter.

There are no words to express the sadness I feel with the loss of my brother Bud.  The realization of knowing that I won't be able to call and hear your voice or see your face is heartbreaking.
Your laughter and love of life was infectious.
Seeing you with family and seeing how happy it made you to be with those you loved most is something I will miss tremendously.
My big brother was all about family. 
He loved his wife more than she will ever know.  He felt that he was the luckiest man in the world to have her. He loved his 4 children and was so incredibly proud of them and all of their accomplishments and boy did he love to brag about them.
Then, he became a grandpa.  His whole world changed. He never thought that he could love like that.  He did.  Addison and Aeon, I hope you know how much grandpa loved you.  Every time I talked to him, he had just sent the girls another package. He loved to spoil them. 
One of his favorite things was being able to be with his brothers and cousins. Playing music and singing. Talking about old times. Talking about growing up in Michigan.
His favorite time of the year was Christmas well, next to Fantasy Football season.
He spoiled his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. He loved seeing them open entirely too many presents and seeing their faces.  We are so blessed to have had those moments.
I know that my children and grandchildren loved their Uncle Bud so much and will miss him.  He treated them like they were his own and even now that my children are all grown up and have children of their own, Uncle Bud was still spoiling them.
I know that I will see you again Bud but somehow it doesn't help right now. I will take care of mom and do my best to be there for Tanya and the kids. I know that's what you would want.
I love you Bud. Thank you for being the best big brother anyone could ever ask for.  Give dad a kiss for me please. I know you will.

The life of the party no matter when and where.  Can tell a story like no other and have you smiling and laughing the whole time.  Very loving.   So much love for all children whether they were family or not.  Never met a stranger.  So many wonderful things about you.  Didn’t get to see you often but when we did see you, it was like we saw each other on a regular basis.   We planned on visiting in the spring and it will not be the same without seeing you.  You were loved by so many and will be greatly missed.  You can now share your stories with those in heaven, Uncle David, grandma and grandpa Jones, Aunt Barbara and Aunt Shirley.  Tell them we miss them.  Love you Bud.
