Dawn was the youngest of five children and graduated from Burbank High School. She later obtained her Medical Coding Degree and a clergyman certificate. As a child, Dawn was active in the Girl Scouts and enjoyed playing tennis and basketball. Her family often went camping, and one memorable summer included a cross-country road trip to visit national monuments and the Four Corners.
In her career, Dawn worked in various roles, including medical billing, where she supported medical teams with pride. She also worked for Librascope, a company that produced military circuit boards, where her parents and other family members were also employed at different times.
The happiest day of Dawn's life was the birth of her son, Harley. As a single mother, she worked hard to provide for him, instilling values of kindness, care, and respect. Dawn was a strict but loving mother, always helping Harley with his school projects, even if it meant late nights. She was also a proud aunt, stepping in to help raise her nephew, Danny, alongside her mother and sisters.
Dawn had a passion for crafting, trying her hand at origami, embroidery, and even woodworking with her mother. She enjoyed watching movies and TV dramas, particularly crime shows and westerns.
Her community involvement included working with New Beginning Outreach in Lancaster, California, helping individuals leaving the prison system find employment. Dawn was also passionate about animal adoption, living by the motto "Adopt don't shop."
Dawn is survived by her son, Harley L. Macchi; her mother, Shirley M. Edwards; sisters Denise M. (Edwards) Anderson (John A. Anderson) and Donna M. (Edwards) Clements; aunts Connie Edwards and Lucy Johnson; uncle Jerry McCullough; nieces Sheila M. Nichols and Stacey M. (Anderson) Nutt; nephews Daniel J. Edwards and John R. Nichols; great-niece Andrea Nichols; great-nephews Carter Nutt and Greyson Harley Edwards; and her best friend, Janice Beckwith.
She was predeceased by her father, Harley Joe Edwards; brothers Harley Joseph Edwards and Dennis Greg Edwards; and brother-in-law John W. Nichols.
Dawn Lynn Edwards will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her honesty, resilience, and thoughtfulness.
