Deborah was born on May 12, 1951, at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Walter and Fay McMeen. Known to family and friends as Deb, Debbie, or Deborah, she grew up in a military family, spending her early years moving between several states before eventually settling in Arizona in 1967.
She attended Chandler High School, graduating in 1969. Following high school, Deborah married her first husband in 1970, and in 1971 welcomed her first daughter, Amy. Her second daughter, Jennifer, was born in 1975. In 1977, she married her second husband, and the family spent time traveling to various states before ultimately returning to Arizona, the place she would always call home.
Deborah devoted much of her life to raising her daughters and creating a home for her family. She was a loving homemaker and also found joy in her work as an orthodontic assistant, a job she truly loved.
In 1991, Deborah suffered a massive stroke that took away much of her independence and changed the course of her life. Despite the challenges that followed, she was surrounded by love and received devoted care from family and friends throughout the next 35 years. Their love and support remained an important part of her life.
Deborah found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved Mexican food, especially guacamole, flowers of every kind, and the colors pink and green. She also enjoyed collecting magnets, little treasures that brought her joy. These small things were part of what made her special and are among the many memories her loved ones will cherish.
Deborah is survived by her two daughters, Amy (Tim) Beck and Jennifer (Scott) Song; six grandchildren, Haley, Tatum, Noah, Olivia, Billy, and Colleen; her former husband, George Murray; her sister, Nancy Lanoue; and her brothers, Randy McMeen and Barry McMeen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Fay McMeen, and her former husband, Ray Sealing.
Deborah’s life was one of family, love, resilience, and the simple joys that make life meaningful. She will be remembered for the memories she created, the family she loved, and the many people whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
