Delores Ann Townsend

Delores Ann (Anderson) Townsend left this earth December 10, 2021. She passed away suddenly in her Glendale home of COVID-19. She was born to Carl M. and Laura C. Anderson February 11, 1939 in Hawley, MN.

Delores met Roger Lee Townsend in Idaho and they were later married on June 26, 1957 in Bozeman, MT.

A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved to take her grandchildren to movies, to get ice-cream, go on picnics and spent many afternoons doing arts and crafts with her grandkids. If there was a baby nearby, Delores was usually holding and cooing to it.

She was an avid reader and spent many years as a paraprofessional working with handicapped children. She was active in her church circle and Bible studies.

She and Roger spent several weeks each year going "home" to either Hawley, MN or Bozeman, MT to reunite with family and friends.

Her passing has left a hole in the lives of the many people that loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Laura, daughters Sharon and Lori Townsend, brothers Harlan and Clyde.

She will be missed by her husband Roger Lee Townsend; brother Curtis Anderson; son Kerry (Fran) Townsend, daughter Diane (Frank) Davis; two grandsons Frank "Billy" Davis and Kevin Townsend, three granddaughters Amanda, Jessica, and Linda; one great-grandson Jordan and three great-granddaughters Lullaby, Serenade and Isabella.

A memorial service is planned for February 5, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6301 W Indian School Road, Phoenix at 11AM.
