Dolores began her career right after high school at Credit Thrift & Loan as a loan agent in the early 70s. Later, she and her family moved to Payson, AZ, where she worked alongside her husband, Cliff, at their 76' gas station for several years. An opportunity arose for Dolores to work for APS, which she embraced, remaining with the company even as she moved several times within Arizona. Eventually, both Dolores and Cliff worked at the Cholla Power Plant in Holbrook in the mid-seventies. After their children graduated high school, Dolores and Cliff returned to Phoenix, AZ, where they started a chain of gas stations under the name of Conquest, Inc. Cliff managed the gas stations until his retirement, while Dolores concluded her successful career with APS.
