Donald Edgar Core

Donald graduated Oakland High School in Oakland, Iowa and joined the United States Navy serving in the Korean War. On July 10, 1959, Donald married Janice Marie Green and then they moved to Phoenix, Arizona in December of 1967. He was employed by and worked for 45 years at Western Electric - Lucent Technologies.

He is preceded in death by his wife Janice Core, Father Edgar Core, Mother Laura Core and son Jeffrey Todd Core, sisters Thelma (Cecil) Fellows, Violet June (Farmer) Breakfield, Phyllis (Lorrin) Matthews; Betty Lou Frieze, Wylladean (James) Betts, brothers Franklin (Mary Jane) Core, Jackie Dean (Marlene) Core, brother-in-law's Henry (Violet) Green, Edward (Lucille) Green, Ronald Green, sister-in-law Kathryn (Richard) Kuklin.

Donald is survived by his children Timothy Core of New River, Kimberly (Stephen) Maggio of Scottsdale, Steven (Julie) Core of Surprise, and Rodney (Cari) Core of Prescott Valley. Grandchildren Bryan (Samantha) Core, Jesse (Lorielle) Core, Cody (Dee) Core, Matthew Maggio, Justin (Mackenzie) Core, Kyle Core, Amanda (Adam) Lindsey, Bailey (Cristina) Core, Katlin (Aaron) Pettyjohn, Chase (Jaquelin) Town, Brandi (Alex} Santillan, and Tawny Town. Great Grandchildren Callie, Noah, Wyatt Core; Jaxson, Grayson Core, Travis, Ella, Allena Reader; Leighton Mains, Olive Core; Lane Core, Kaylynn, Lincoln, Merek Lindsey; Clayton Core; Carson, and Scarlett Town. And a boat load of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N 59th Avenue Glendale, Arizona and interment is scheduled for placement at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 North Cave Creek Road Phoenix, Arizona.
