She was born on June 12, 1936 in Douglas, Arizona to Louise Hackett Taylor Vanderhoof and Burnice E. Taylor.
Donna met David N. Hunt in the 5th grade and must have known he was the “one” as they were married on June 28, 1957. They shared over 64 years of marriage, had three children and nine grandchildren. David preceded her in death in February 2022 and Donna missed him tremendously every single day after his passing.
Donna was a member of NPHX (North Phoenix Baptist Church) and was a language arts teacher for 32 years. She was also an accomplished pianist, playing for church services and functions throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, participated in a bowling league for many years, loved tennis, and avidly followed all Arizona sports teams especially the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks. Most of all, she loved her family and traveled all over the world to see them.
Donna is survived by her three children Belinda (David) Zehr, Lee Ann (Darryl) Davis, and William (Niyom) Hunt, and nine grandchildren Brandis Zehr, Danielle Zehr, Natthanicha Uppathe, David Zehr, Nathanial Davis, Taylor Davis, Caleb Davis, David Hunt, and Jonathan Hunt.
In addition to her parents, stepfather Benjamin L. Vanderhoof, husband David, and her brother Duane Taylor, all preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 2PM at NPHX (North Phoenix Baptist Church) in the Chapel, 5757 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix. Donna was laid to rest beside her loving husband David at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale.
