Dorothy T. Ainslie, age 89, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Steve and Chrese (Varvagianis) Tsoukalason on February 3,1935. She attended Thomas Jefferson School. She became interested in drama and received her first part in the school play. Throughout her school years, Dorothy continued enjoying her time in the drama club. In one of the plays, she was the understudy and assisted with the play "Annie Get Your Guns.” Dorothy was also a member of the Honor Society.
After graduation, Dorothy went to work for the Navy Department of Ohio. Dorothy's happiest day of her life was on June 30, 1963 when she married Lawrence Ainslie. They later started a family.
Dorothy's hobbies were crafts, cake decorating, sewing, exercise classes, and ice skating.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Marc Ainslie and his wife, Debbie Ackert, and grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Nick, and Colton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence.
A Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E Maryland Ave, Phoenix, Arizona. Following the service will be a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona 85301.
