Dorothy Kumagai

Dorothy was born March 23, 1923 in Alameda, CA to Heizaburo and Suga Madokoro and was a resident of The Town of Paradise Valley, AZ until moving to Blair, NE in 2012.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her husband Dr. Tamio “Tom” Kumagai, her daughter Patricia Kumagai, her grandson Steven Kumagai, and step-grandson Bryan McCormick.

She is survived by two sons and their wives: Randy and Brandy Kumagai of Phoenix, AZ; and Dr. Steven and Karen Kumagai of Elkhorn, NE. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Tom Kumagai and his wife Stephanie, Jack Kumagai, and Ava Kumagai; and three step-grandchildren: CAPT Robert McCormick USN and his wife Lynne, GySgt David McCormick USMC and his wife Beverly, and Anessa Gonzales and her husband Dr. John Gonzales. She is also survived by eight step-great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ian, Jordan, Ashlynne, Simon, Aiden, Kailani, and Tennyson plus many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces/nephews.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 1PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a local hospice provider.
