Eddie D. Martinez

81, a lifelong resident of Glendale, Az was called home to heaven on Monday, February 6, 2012, surrounded with his family and brothers by his side. Eddie was born on November 25, 1930 and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Martinez who was the apple of his eye. He adored our mother and she is so grateful for how much he loved her. Our mother said, "He gave me enough love to last for five lifetimes". He would tell her often how much he loved her. When she walked into the room, his eyes would light up and sparkle, with a great big smile that would follow. Eddie worked for the City of Glendale for 35 years in the Water Department as a Meter Reader and in Customer Service. Eddie is also survived by his children, Eddie Jr., Michael, Jimmy (Mary) and Barbara, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his brothers, Manuel, Richard (Sheppe) and Tuco Martinez along with many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, Santiago Martinez, his mother that he cherised so much, Esiquia Diaz, his sister Annie and brothers, Joe, Jimmy and Ernie Martinez. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 14th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 W. Orangewood Ave, Glendale, Az. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the mass starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow immediately to Resthaven Park Cemetary, 6450 W. Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. We would like to graciously thank the staff from Infinity Hospice for all the homecare and support they provided. ~Thank you for everything dad - you were a great man!
