Felicitas (Licha) H. Aranda, 91, from Surprise, AZ passed away on Wednesday, 8 July 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She leaves behind her daughter Lina Aranda; two sons, Pedro and wife Deyanira, and Abilio Jr. and wife Angelica Aranda; four grandchildren, Justin and wife Veronica, Yesenia, Alia and Arianna Aranda; one great granddaughter, Eliza Aranda; two sisters, Angelica Valdez and Amalia Valenzuela; three brothers, Antonio, Elias, and Carlos Hernandez; and many nephews, nieces, and friends. Licha was born on a small ranch in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. She lived on the ranch until she married her love, Abilio, in September 1960. She came to the US in the summer of 1961, eventually settling in Surprise in the summer of 1967. Licha was an extremely hard working and loving person her entire life. She worked outside her home and when she got home she continued working until it was time to go to bed. At home if she wasn’t cooking or cleaning, she was sewing or knitting. Licha was an accomplished seamstress. She made many beautiful items for family and friends. Licha loved with all her heart. She was always helping others and giving whenever she could. Everybody that met her, loved her. A person couldn’t leave her house without taking with them something she had given them. She also loved feeding people. You couldn’t step in her house without her offering you something to eat. Licha will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held at 9 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
