She is survived by her husband of 40 years John D Elam and their blended family of 8 children; Sue, Tracy, Joe, Matt, John P, Joan, Mary and John Jr. She was preceded in death by her son Mike in 2014.
She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and preceded in death by her Marine grandson Joey who was killed in Afghanistan in 2010.
Lorraine retired after 30 years from Kerley Chemical where she started out as a bookkeeper, then advanced to comptroller and retired as the VP of human resources.
She and her husband were both avid pilots and for years piloted their own Cessna 172. For many years she was an active member of the 99’s, an organization for women pilots. She also had a great love of books and was always surrounded by them and her beloved dogs and cats.
She was a very kind and generous woman who touched the lives of many. She will be forever loved and missed.
Viewing from 6 to 9 pm, September 24, 2018 at Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale. Funeral Services will be held at St Louis the King Catholic Church in Glendale at 12:00 pm on September 25, 2018. Burial to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
